August 3, 1932 / April 16, 2009
Mr. Dovi was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but has lived in Jacksonville for the past 49 years.
He loved his family first and foremost, but his second love was teaching. He was a teacher in Duval County for 30 years; teaching at St. Matthews, St. Paul’s, Richard L. Brown, Landmark Middle and Arlington County Day Schools.
His sense of humor was dominant, right up to the end. Everyone was a friend. He will be missed not only by his family, but by all those whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nina and Louis Dovi; a brother,
Stefano Dovi; two sisters, Teresa Obst and Giovanna Calbert; a
brother-in-law, Bill Calvert; and two nephews, Bryan Obst and Christopher
Zipperer.
